Two surveys, one control network.
Site detail, levels and structures captured to a consistent control network, ready to drop straight into your design model.
Topographical survey
Boundaries, ground levels, surfaces and site features measured and drawn, so designers start from an accurate base.
Measured building survey
Existing buildings captured by total station or laser scan for plans, sections and elevations you can design from.
Levels & sections
Ground levels and sections taken across the site, ready for earthworks, drainage and highways design.
How a topographical survey is captured.
A base station is set over a control point and a surveyor walks the site with a GNSS rover, logging ground levels and detail. The points build a ground model, drawn as contours, spot heights and features on your site plan.
How a measured building survey is captured.
A laser scanner is set up on a control point and sweeps the building, recording the facade as a dense point cloud. The cloud is traced into accurate CAD plans, sections and elevations, with dimensions checked before issue.
How both surveys run.
A named surveyor, a programme before mobilisation, and drawings that arrive in the format your design team uses.
- 01Surface
Control network
We establish survey control for the site, so every survey and later phase sits on the same reference.
- 02On site
Capture
Total station, GNSS and laser scanning capture the site, levels and structures, with any utility or drainage data tied in.
- 03Delivery
Process & deliver
Layered CAD, point cloud and a 3D model where you need one, supplied to match your design model.

If your question is not here, call and speak to a surveyor — not a call handler.
01What is the difference between the two surveys?
A topographical survey records the site: ground levels, boundaries and features. A measured building survey records existing buildings as plans, sections and elevations. They are often commissioned together.
02Can topographical and utility surveys share one drawing?
Yes. Because they use the same control network, utilities, drainage and site detail can be issued together.
03What formats do you supply?
Layered AutoCAD (.dwg / .dxf), point cloud, and Civil 3D or Revit outputs where required.
04Can you survey occupied buildings and live sites?
Yes. We plan around term dates, wards and public access. Tell us about restrictions when you brief.
